It is intended to counteract the DJI “Mavic” type anti-aircraft missiles and analogues used by the enemy to conduct reconnaissance, guidance, as well as as means of delivering and dropping ammunition, by simultaneously radio-electronic suppression (REP) of control signals from the pilot-operator and from satellite radio navigation systems.

The main functional task of the station is the systematic radio-electronic protection of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the troops (forces) from defeating the enemy's BPLA on the battlefield.

The main fundamental advantages of the EW station “VERES-2” are the ability for the EW operator to remotely control the station (at distances limited by the access of the local computing network), versatility in terms of electromagnetic accessibility to suppression purposes, mobility (tactical mobility), autonomy, reliability and security.
